About Us

SOS was founded by Justin Short, an avid whitewater kayaker, snowboarder, and outdoor enthusiast. The company grew directly out of his personal experiences after moving to Canmore and downsizing from a larger house to a smaller, affordable townhome. As Justin and his family became increasingly involved in outdoor activities, they faced the same frustrations shared by many Bow Valley residents: piles of disorganized gear stored in congested spaces, time-consuming searches, and costly delays when equipment was misplaced, damaged, or forgotten. Justin discovered that having purpose-built storage systems not only saved time and reduced stress, but also made outdoor experiences more frequent and enjoyable.

The improved efficiency that results from knowing where your gear belongs makes for quicker departures and less stressful returns. His goal became helping others experience that same sense of order and readiness.
